Gantry Crane Course
Course description
This telehandler training course aims to provide the participant with all the requirements needed for obtaining a TSHA Trained Telehandler Operator License. Successfully completing this course will allow anyone enrolling for this course to operate any non-slewing Telehandler within Australia.
This course does not cover the requirements for using a slewing Telehandler or crane jib attachments with a lifting capacity over three tones.

RIIHAN305D – Operate a gantry or overhead crane
RIIHAN203E – Conduct lifting operations
Entry Requirements
No prerequisites stated for this plant operator course.
The participant must:
- Applicants should be at least 14 years and nine months.
- Able to produce sufficient identification with name and photo (i.e., driver’s license, passport, etc.).
- Speak and understand English at a level to be able to participate in the training program and assessment.

Course Outline
- Plan and prepare for telescopic materials handler operations
- Operate telescopic materials handler in line with established requirements
- Attach, secure, lift, carry and place materials to complete work activity
- Select, remove, fit and use attachments for a telescopic materials handler
- Relocate the telescopic materials handler
- Conduct housekeeping activities
Course Outcome
Upon completion of the course, the participant will be issued with a Statement of Attainment in unit RIIHAN305D RIIHAN203E– Conduct telescopic materials handler operations.
Upon successfully completing the course, a Gold Card Telehandler License will be issued by the TSHA with each type of attachment completed.
Payments
This course attracts a fee of $450.00 per participant and is GST exempt. These fees cover all ,training, assessment, use of machinery/equipment, stationary (books, pens, use of calculator and resources) and most importantly, the amazing experience.
The full course fee must be paid prior to starting date of the course.
